Overview
Yala Weheragala National Park (Block 5/6) offers a different side of the Yala landscape, with a quieter atmosphere, fewer vehicles, and a stronger sense of remote wilderness than the busier main sectors.
This area combines dry forest, scrubland, rocky terrain, and seasonal water sources that attract elephants, crocodiles, deer, peafowl, and a wide range of birdlife, with the added excitement of possible leopard sightings.
Guests who choose Block 5/6 often do so for a more relaxed safari rhythm and the chance to spend longer stretches in a less crowded environment.
Morning Safari and Evening Safari each run for 5 hours, while the Full-Day Safari runs for 10 hours. Entrance tickets must be purchased separately by the guests.
